Giuliani: Kim Jong-un 'begged' for summit to take place

Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani has said North Korea's leader "begged" for their summit to be rescheduled after the US president cancelled it. Speaking at a conference in Israel, Mr Giuliani said Mr Trump's tough stance had forced Pyongyang's hand. Mr Trump called off the summit in May, accusing North Korea of "tremendous anger and open hostility". But plans for the 12 June bilateral in Singapore were revived after a conciliatory response from Pyongyang. Mr Giuliani was speaking at an investment conference in Israel when he made the remark. The Wall Street Journal first reported that Mr Giuliani said: "Well, Kim Jong-un got back on his hands and knees and begged for it, which is exactly the position you want to put him in." MANCHESTER: British boxing champion of Pakistan origin Amir Khan was attacked by a group of men when a car rammed into his Range Rover, Geo News reported. Pakistan-origin British boxer Amir Khan, 30, was attacked by a group of men in his hometown of Bolton in Greater Manchester, when his flash 4x4 was hit by another car. It is learnt that violence erupted when the two parties confronted each other over the collision. And several men set on Khan with one man throwing a punch in his direction. MADRID: Argentina superstar Lionel Messi is to branch out into the leisure industry and launch an amusement park in China in 2019, his partners in the venture said on Thursday. The "Messi Experience Park" will have more than 20 attractions spread out on a site covering more than 80,000m2 in Nankin, south east China. The park will "immerse visitors in Messi's universe, combining the latest attractions with spaces to take part in the top sport", said audiovisual group Mediapro, who will run the venture alongside Chinese television group Phoenix Group and the Barcelona forward's Leo Messi Management. Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi, 29, was the second-highest paid sportsman in the world last year, according to Forbes, with an income of $81.4 million (72.6 million euros), just behind his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo with 78.3 million euros.
